Abstract Religions use linguistic and non-linguistic codes of meaning to express their contents: natural tongues, music, sculpture, poetry, rituals, practices... Also, religions provide the semantic context rules produce, validate, interpret expressions: as such, can be considered languages. The Sophia Special Issue ‘Religions Languages: A Polyphony Faiths’ explores multifaceted relationships world with languages broadly construed, intended other religious codes, artistic forms, digital media, even science. Do modify themselves in order convey a divine message? How do means expression accommodate contents? What are aspects interaction between religions, technological advances, scientific methods? five contributions this issue offer innovative, compelling, engaging perspectives regarding complex fascinating issue.
